A log cabin in harvest colors
The biggest thing on the wall right now is a log cabin in deep navy and goldenrod, with the blocks turned every which way. I planned it in the Quilt Builder, then spent an evening rearranging the real blocks anyway.
A baby quilt on a deadline
Next to it is a soft pastel nine-patch for a friend’s baby. It is small, simple and due in three weeks, which is exactly why it keeps jumping the queue.
The one that will never be finished
In the corner is a sampler I started years ago, one block from every technique I wanted to learn. It will probably never become a quilt, and that is fine. It is a record of how I learned.
The scrap bin that started it all
Under the table sits the scrap bin, overflowing as usual. Almost every quilt on this wall began as a handful of leftovers that looked good together, and the next one probably will too.
