Patchwork is operated by Radkette, LLC, based in San Diego, California (“Patchwork,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use buildpatchwork.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: your designs stay on your device unless you share them, and we don’t sell your information.

1. Designs stored on your device

Quilts you design in the builder are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. They are not sent to Patchwork’s servers, and we can’t see, access or recover them. Clearing your browser data deletes them.

2. Information we collect

Quilt Library submissions. If you submit a pattern to the Quilt Library, we collect the pattern name, the designer name you enter, the layout and the colors used.

Anonymous identity. If you submit a pattern without signing in, we create an anonymous user ID so your submission can be linked to you. This ID isn’t tied to your name or email.

Emails you send us. If you contact team@buildpatchwork.com, we keep your email address and message so we can respond.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically log basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you view.

We don’t ask for your name, address, phone number or payment details.

3. How we use information

  • to run the Service and display approved patterns in the Quilt Explorer
  • to review submissions and enforce our Terms of Service
  • to respond to your questions and removal or copyright requests
  • to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems
  • to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it

4. What’s public

If your Quilt Library submission is approved, the pattern name, designer name, layout and colors are shown publicly and other users can open, recolor and print the pattern. Don’t put your full legal name or other personal information in the designer field unless you want it shown publicly.

5. Sharing

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share information only:

  • with service providers that help us run Patchwork, such as Supabase, Vercel and GitHub, who may use it only to provide services to us
  • if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of Patchwork, our users or others
  • with a buyer or successor if Patchwork or Radkette, LLC is sold or merged

6. Cookies and local storage

Patchwork uses your browser’s local storage to save your designs and to keep your anonymous identity linked to your submissions. We don’t use advertising cookies.

7. How long we keep information

We keep Quilt Library submissions and the anonymous ID linked to them until the pattern is removed. We keep emails as long as needed to handle your request. Server logs are kept for a limited time by our hosting providers.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete information we hold about you, including removing a Quilt Library submission, by emailing team@buildpatchwork.com. We may ask for details to confirm the request is yours. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.

California residents. California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use and share it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms. To make a request, email team@buildpatchwork.com.

9. Children

Patchwork is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted a pattern, email team@buildpatchwork.com and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, but no website or transmission is completely secure.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Last modified” date above, and post a notice on the site for material changes.
